HIP PAIN

Hip Pain is a general term used for irritation in the hip area.  There are many components to the hip and what may cause hip pain.  You can have structural(joint related) hip pain, functional(muscular related) hip pain, and nerve pain around the hip region.  Some of the more common injuries that bring on hip pain are Hip Impingement, Hip Strains(muscular), Hip Sprains(ligaments), Hip bursitis, and Hip Labrum Injuries.

Symptoms that are associated with most of the Hip Injuries listed above are Ache pain, Sharp pain, Pinching pain, Pressure in the hip joint, Loss of ROM, Tightness/Spasms, Radiating pain around the hip and sometimes down the back of the hip, as well as pain on movement/activity.  Some people will notice that it is causing problems walking, going up and down stairs, inhibiting them from standing from a seated position, and driving.

The best course of action for these issues is to find a professional that can properly evaluate and diagnose the issue so that they can build a proper treatment plan to help resolve the problem.  Our goals for any hip pain would be to decrease the pain and improve the function of the area.  Once the pain has decreased, begin to build stability in the muscles and joints.  And finally, build strength in the area to help resolve as well as prevent further injury from occurring.

  1. Evaluate & Diagnose the problem to build a specific individualized treatment plan.

  2. Decrease the pain and improve function of the issue.

  3. Stabilize and strengthen the area to prevent further and future injury to the area.

  4. Build a Self-Care program for the individual to manage the problem on their own.

At Feroce Spine & Rehabilitation we take a 4-step approach.
