Hip Sprain

Hip Sprain is an injury that occurs to the ligaments that hold the hip joint together.  Hip Sprains usually occur from the ligaments being over stretched and/or torn beyond their capacity.  This commonly occurs from slips and falls, trauma, sports injuries, running and weightlifting to name a few.

Symptoms of a Hip Sprain are ache, stiffness, sharp/stabbing pain, tenderness in the hip region.  It also can cause weakness in the hip, instability in the hip, swelling, possible bruising, and limping.  Depending on the severity of the sprain it can range in symptoms from less to more.  And left untreated can cause greater limitations and pain that can lead to a more severe injury to the hip.

The best course of action when dealing with a hip sprain is to seek a professional who can properly evaluate and diagnose the issue and its severity.  This will help them build a treatment plan that helps decrease pain, improve mobility, help build stability through proper stretching and exercises, and finally build strength to support the area.

  1. Evaluate & Diagnose the problem to build a specific individualized treatment plan.

  2. Decrease the pain and improve function of the issue.

  3. Stabilize and strengthen the area to prevent further and future injury to the area.

  4. Build a Self-Care program for the individual to manage the problem on their own.

At Feroce Spine & Rehabilitation we take a 4-step approach.
